In high school, YWLCS students have the opportunity to complete an internship that serves as a bridge between the academic and professional world.
This includes pre-requisite seminars focused on professional readiness, including business etiquette, resume building, and interview skills. Students then complete a minimum of 25 hours during their field experience at a local Chicago business or organization. Through this experience, students develop the core skills and competencies necessary for the working world:
Students are evaluated in multiple ways: supervisor evaluations, weekly journals, and a reflection presented via PowerPoint presentation as a culmination of their full experience.
By mastering these skills, YWLCS students are in a position to compete for high-paying, skilled professions.
