Happy New Year!
I pray that all of you have had a great start to 2012! Although it seems that we just began the school year only a few months ago, we have come to the end of our first semester here at YWLCS! Our staff has worked extremely hard to move our students to a new level of student achievement and our girls are demonstrating growth everyday.
As we move into the 3rd quarter/2nd semester, I want to make sure that you are aware of some very important events that will take place this year. We need all parents/families to keep their students encouraged about finishing the year strong.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (NO SCHOOL) Jan 16th
Quarter 3/Semester 2 begins Jan 17th
Spring Open House (1:30-3:30 p.m.) Jan 28th
ISAT (Illinois Scholastic Aptitude Test) 7th/8th grades Mar 6th-9th
ISAT Make-Up testing 7th & 8th grades Mar 12th-16th
Quarter 3/Semester 2 ends Mar 29th
Professional Development Day (NO STUDENTS) Mar 30th
Spring Break Apr 2nd-6th
Junior College Tour (Tentatively) Apr 15th-18th
PSAE (Prairie State Achievement Examination) 11th grade Apr 24th-25th
Often times, when students have a challenging start to the year, they feel they can never make major improvements. We all know that this is not the case. Let’s continue to remind them to make a fresh start, put the past behind them, and look forward to a brighter future!
Thank you for your continuous support. We look forward to continued success this year!
