Alumnae
Since opening our doors in the fall of 2000, YWLCS has graduated more than 300 students. At least 85% of YWLCS graduates go on to pursue college or other post-secondary options, ranking YWLCS 1st out of 77 Chicago public schools according to the latest Chicago Public School report card. Students from YWLCS have gone on to such collegiate institutions as Spelman College, Michigan State University, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. YWLCS Alumnae Reunion
Our January 8, 2010 alumnae reunion was a success! Thank you, alumnae, for traveling near and far to visit YWLCS and share your experience with our current seniors. Alumnae Statistics
- The majority of YWLCS students who entered a four-year college between 2004 and 2007 have either graduated as of May 2011 or expect a degree within the next year. By stark contrast, the most recent research indicates that only 8% of Chicago public school graduates will obtain a college degree by the age of 25.
