  • YWLCS has 350 students matriculating in grades 7-12.
  • Nearly 2/3s of our girls arrived performing at least one grade level behind.
  • 80% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, indicating that they come from households with a low family income.
  • More than 15% of our student population have documented special needs.
  • Our student demographics are as follows: 80% African American, 11% Latina, 6% Caucasian, and 3% Multi-Racial.
  • Students commute from nearly 30 different zip codes across Chicago.
