VOLUNTEER AS A MENTORING FRIEND!
About the Mentoring Friends Group:
The Mentoring Friends Group is an opportunity for the young women of YWLCS and adult women in Chicagoland to connect and learn from each other through a series of structured adventures.
Mentoring Friend Adventures – Winter/Spring 2008:
Saturday, January 26th: Mentoring Mixer with Get to Know You Games
11a- 1.30p at school, 2641 S Calumet (No cost to mentoring friends.)
Saturday, February 9th: Bowling
Time and Location TBD ($5 cost to mentoring friends.)
Sunday, March 16th: Sweet Honey in the Rock Benefit Concert and Talkback,
3p-5.30p at Chicago Symphony Hall ($75 cost to mentoring friends.)
Thursday, April 24th: Take Our Daughters to Work Day
9a-3p in Participating Workplaces (No cost to mentoring friends.)
Saturday, May 17th: Getting There Event
(one on one help for girls with end of year assignments)
9a-2p at school, 2641 S Calumet (No cost to mentoring friends)
Mentoring Friend Commitment:
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to make three commitments to the program:
- Completing the volunteer application form.
- Attending at least 3 of the 5 adventures listed above.
- Working with staff to coordinate 1 of the adventures listed above.
