How does YWLCS achieve what comparable schools do not?

There are many components to our success: being a single-sex school; being a small school; having good leadership: recruiting, training and keeping quality faculty and staff; teaching using innovative, research-based and data driven curriculum, instruction, and assessment; and providing thoughtfully designed supporting programs among them.

But a foundation and critical component of YWLCS's success is our extended community of supporters - program partners, volunteers, and donors -- who are equally committed to our vision that all young women have the skills, tools and opportunities to develop as ethical leaders shaping their lives and the world and demonstrate that commitment through action.

• Our program partners help us to extend our education offerings beyond the classroom and model best practices in education.  Our beyond the classroom offerings include internships and summer programs that complement and enhance our curriculum.  Best practices that are modeled by YWLCS include research in education related fields that is used to inform teaching and learning.

• Our volunteers are people from all walks of life who share their experience, knowledge, and time to serve on the school's board, work on various school committees, or assist with special programs and projects at the school.

• Our donors are individuals, corporations, and foundations that realize that we must invest in our young people's education if we are to have competent leaders of tomorrow.
